How this directory is built

Every field comes from the agency's own website, fetched on the date shown on each country page. Nothing is copied from another directory. Municipalities are resolved against the country's official postal-code reference, never typed by hand — a postal code absent from that reference is rejected, which is what removes copyright years read as postal codes.

Where a company number is published in an agency's legal notice, it is shown, so it can be checked for free in the national business register.

These lists are not exhaustive, and they cannot prove they are: in most countries no register of model agencies exists. Each country page says what it covers and what it misses.

Only one of these countries licenses model agencies

We checked, country by country, rather than assume.

  • France — a model agency licence is compulsory and every order is published in the Official Journal. We went through the complete archive: 629 notices, including 43 withdrawals and 8 refusals. Agencies that hold one carry the badge.
  • Belgium — the regional artist-placement registers contain no model agency at all. One match out of 86 leads, and it was a sole trader.
  • Netherlands — the KVK Waadi Check returns no usable status: our control, a directory publisher, appears exactly like the agencies do.
  • Italy — the Ministry of Labour's public register holds none of the nineteen Milan and Rome agencies we searched for, while it returns 32 entries for “ADECCO”. The search works; model agencies are simply not in it.

So a badge appears on one country only. Anywhere else, a site showing you an “approved agency” label is inventing it.

Next countries

Four countries are live. The generator is country-agnostic: adding a country means a data file and a country profile, not a new site. Countries are added when their data has actually been collected and verified — not announced before.

Facecard is published by Signed, a mother agency: it represents models and presents them to agencies. Signed has no ownership, shareholding or partnership link with any agency listed here.
